MonkeyBread’s review of the Hollywood Diner..

My mom, dad, and I, went to the Hollywood Diner on 90th and Maple for dinner last night. We had to wait, but it just opened so we were not surprised. They had a game room with an air hockey table, pinball machines and a few video games. Dad said the Pac Man game was a rip off. But there was a Terminator statue in the corner and that was pretty cool.
There is a statue of a man in a white suit right inside the front door. Mom said it was supposed to be Al Capone. Jake and Elwood Blues are also inside. It looks ok inside, but kind of cheaply done (mom said that too). But each table has it’s own jukebox and you can play 2 songs for a quarter. That was sweet!
I had a bbq bacon burger, Dad had a jalapeno burger, Mom had a club sandwich, and we shared an order of Chili cheese fries. The cheese part of the fries were good but the chili wasn’t. It was full of big chunks of peppers and tomatoes and I hate tomatoes. Mom said her sandwich was dry and Dad said his burger was a little over cooked, but nothing was terrible.
Oh! We each had a different drink and they make the drinks themselves. I had a vanilla coke with real vanilla and it was perfect! Our server was nice and didn’t mess up anything and she still smiled even after the guy in the booth behind us yelled at her. We shared a brownie sundae and it was good but I wanted more hot fudge on it.
So MonkeyBred gives Hollywood Diner 3 napkins. Food was not great but it was ok, but you have to pay $1.00 extra if you want fries with your dinner, The place looked ok but not really great. Server was good and the jukebox was cool.
